BarrierRegen™ Serum is built around a lipid-rich formula, so oxidation control matters. Every production batch is checked against written specifications, including acid and peroxide values that track oil degradation and oxidation. The formula is separately monitored through accelerated and long-term stability programs.

Your outermost skin is often described as brick and mortar. The bricks are skin cells; the mortar is a matrix of lipids sealing moisture in. Ceramides are the single largest component of that mortar, roughly half of the barrier’s lipids by mass. Cholesterol and fatty acids make up most of the rest.
There are more than a dozen ceramide types in skin. Ceramide NP is one of the most abundant, and it acts as a scaffold within the lipid layers. You may see it called Ceramide 3, which is the same molecule under an older name.

Why this serum has no water in it
Deliver lipids as lipids.
Most ceramide serums are water-based. Ceramides, being lipids, are not naturally at home in water, so formulating them into an emulsion takes solubilisers and extra help. It works. It is simply not the only way.
Anhydrous takes the opposite approach. No water phase, so nothing has to evaporate before the lipids reach your skin, and no preservative system is required because there is no water to preserve. Your barrier’s mortar is made of lipids. A lipid-based serum delivers ceramides in the same kind of medium the skin uses them in.
Neither format is better universally. For a barrier serum specifically, delivering lipids as lipids is a coherent choice, and it is the one we made.

Golden Seaweed
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (and) Laminaria ochroleuca extract
A cold-water brown alga, used at 2% as supplied, which is the level the material is studied at. It sits alongside the ceramide to support the look and feel of comfortable skin rather than to add a second lipid, which is a different job from the one the base is already doing.

Ubiquinone, 100% pure powder
An antioxidant naturally present in skin. We use it at 0.5% as pure ubiquinone powder rather than a pre-diluted dispersion, at a level selected near the practical solubility limit of this formula. Included for antioxidant support and a supple, elastic afterfeel.
Three actives. Not a long list doing very little.
An honest boundary. Ceramide deficiency is studied in connection with certain skin conditions, and you will see those mentioned elsewhere. We keep this simple: skincare supports the look and feel of a healthy barrier. It is not a treatment for any medical skin condition, and if that is your situation a dermatologist is the right call. What is also deliberately not here: water, fragrance, and the long supporting cast most barrier serums carry.

Panlunas delivers a smooth, cushioned glide that settles into a supple, luminous finish. The texture feels comforting and enveloping, designed to enhance softness without heaviness or residue. An immediate glow with no tack is the hardest thing to get right in an anhydrous system, and it took a lot of iterations.
Glow Serum Finish is one of seven texture archetypes YANNARA formulates against. It is a specification, not an adjective. Every batch is scored against it before release, and if it drifts it does not ship.

How to use
Before first use — Patch test
Apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours. If irritation occurs, rinse and discontinue use. We recommend patch testing before introducing any new facial oil serum into your routine.
