Formulations as Systems
YANNARA does not formulate ingredient-by-ingredient. We design formulations as systems — considering structure, sensory experience, and results before introducing individual materials.
Ingredients are selected based on
Every ingredient must serve a clear, demonstrable role in the formulation system.
Ingredients are evaluated for how they interact with skin biology and the broader formula structure.
Performance is assessed within the specific conditions of our waterless formulation environment.
We prioritize natural and organically sourced oils whenever possible. Cold-pressed materials are preferred for their integrity and sensory richness.
However, not all oils can be certified organic, and some are refined when refinement improves stability, safety, or performance.
YANNARA does not test on animals, and works with suppliers who share this standard.
We prioritize responsible sourcing practices that respect people, materials, and local communities — while recognizing that sourcing realities vary by region and ingredient.
What We Leave Out
We avoid ingredients that compromise formulation integrity, skin compatibility, or long-term trust. This includes materials that are:
Ingredients included for marketing perception rather than functional contribution have no place in our formulations.
Materials that destabilize anhydrous systems are excluded regardless of their marketing profile.
We do not mask formulation imbalance. Every ingredient must contribute — not compensate.
If an ingredient conflicts with our formulation philosophy, it is not considered — regardless of trend or demand.
