THE RITUAL

Bakuchiol is only part of the story.

Created for uneven, pigmentation-prone skin. Built around 1% bakuchiol and a tone-refining active system.

Bakuchiol at 1%

Often called a "phyto-retinol," bakuchiol is chemically distinct from retinol. Here it works on visible renewal and tone refinement.

Paired with stable vitamin C

3% THD vitamin C shares the oil phase with bakuchiol, adding complementary support for a brighter, more even-looking complexion.

Beyond Pigment

IBR-SolAge™, a 1% pink microalga active, addresses glycation, which pigment-focused actives do not reach.

OUR APPROACH

Formulated with intention

ToneReset™ Serum is made in controlled small batches by LikhaBio CosmaLab LLC, the company behind YANNARA, in our climate-controlled lab under documented cosmetic GMP procedures. Every batch is then evaluated over several days by the same two formulators who developed it.

Two formulators, four parameters

Every batch is independently scored on glide, absorption speed, cushion, and afterfeel. It must match the Matte Veil archetype on all four before release.

Stable vitamin C is still verified

Every production batch is checked against written specifications, including acid and peroxide values that track oil degradation and oxidation. ToneReset™ Serum uses stabilized, oil-soluble vitamin C, but we still monitor the finished formula through accelerated and long-term stability programs.

The protocol sets the pace

Production stays within our own manufacturing operation in controlled small runs. Every batch completes the same evaluation and release process before it ships, even when that means the product is temporarily out of stock.

“We do not release a batch simply because it has been made. It must behave the way we designed it to and clear the checks we set for the formula.”

WHAT SHAPES THIS RITUAL

A layered system of identity, structure, and function.

Moringa · Pili · Elemi

DNA Fingerprint Oils — Identity · Origin · Brand Signature

Moringa, Pili, and Elemi form the YANNARA functional signature—oils selected not for skin type, but for how a formula behaves.

In Arawon, these signature oils support balance, sensory control, and formulation cohesion, helping maintain clarity and calm within a tone-focused system.

Their presence is functional, adaptive, and intentional, not identity alone.

FORMULA ARCHITECTURE

Selected for uneven and discoloration-prone skin

Arawon’s foundation is an oil system chosen to support clarity, balance, and a controlled finish while maintaining comfort.

Rosehip Seed Oil

Helps support a brighter-looking complexion.

Camellia Seed Oil

Lightweight nourishment with a refined skin feel.

Safflower Oil (High Oleic)

Supports smoothness and tone balance.

Jojoba Oil

Helps balance the feel of surface oil.

These oils form the structural base of Arawon, supporting clarity and balance for uneven and discoloration-prone skin. Its matte-veil character is refined through a dedicated texture system designed to diffuse shine and maintain comfort.

Hero Actives

Built around one active, and finished by four more.

A gold ingredient name means we have published a full evidence guide on it. The studies and sources live there, attributed to the people who ran them.

The hero · 1% · Unigen

Bakuchiol

Purified bakuchiol, derived from the babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia)

Bakuchiol has shown retinol-comparable improvements in the appearance of fine lines and uneven tone, without being a retinoid. Chemically, bakuchiol is structurally distinct from vitamin A derivatives and was better tolerated than retinol in comparative research. “Phyto-retinol” is a useful shorthand, not literal chemistry.

Arawon uses bakuchiol at 1%, sourced from Unigen, with supplier analytical testing for bakuchiol content and residual plant compounds.

We will not tell you Arawon reproduces any study’s result. Transferring an ingredient’s research onto a finished product is not how we talk about evidence. Read the honest comparison with retinol, caveats included.

Its published partner

Vitamin C (THD-C)

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, oil-soluble and stabilized

Not L-ascorbic acid. An oil-soluble ester that is not pH-fussy and does not need a water phase to survive, which is what lets it live in the same base as the bakuchiol rather than being split across a morning and an evening routine.

Why this combination is uncommon

Two complementary actives, delivered together.

The classic friction is retinol plus vitamin C. Both can irritate, and traditional vitamin C needs a low pH some skin will not tolerate, so people split them between morning and night. Bakuchiol changes that math. It is not pH-dependent and it is far better tolerated, so the two sit together without the tug-of-war.

Neither cancels the other. Together they give you two kinds of support rather than two ingredients competing for the same job. It is a combination most bakuchiol products leave out entirely. We wrote the full clinician’s guide to this pairing before we wrote this page.

Glycation + structure · 1%

IBR-SolAge™

Dunaliella salina extract, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant

A microscopic alga from hypersaline lagoons that survives by manufacturing its own carotenoids. In skin it addresses glycation, not general antioxidant work. It is an active studied by the supplier across glycation, firmness, and skin evenness. The form we use is rich in the two colorless carotenoids, phytoene and phytofluene, which carry carotenoid activity without the orange tint that can complicate the use of many carotenoids in leave-on formulas.

We use it at 1%, the same level evaluated in the supplier’s clinical work. The study results belong to the ingredient, not the finished serum. The full data is published on our evidence page.

The quiet layer

Licorice Root, Bisabolol & Blue Tansy

Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract · Bisabolol · Tanacetum annuum

Licorice root supports a more even-looking complexion. Bisabolol and blue tansy help calm the appearance of redness.

This is the reason a serum carrying five actives still reads as gentle, and the reason people who have come off retinoids tend to get along with it.

What is deliberately not here: retinoids, water, fragrance, and hydroquinone-style pigment chemistry. This is a cosmetic tone serum that supports the look of evenness. It is not a treatment for melasma or any medical pigment condition, and if that is your situation a dermatologist is the right call. If you are pregnant or nursing, we have written carefully about bakuchiol and pregnancy, and the short version is to run any new product past your OB first.

Sensory Engineering

Your texture: Matte Veil

An oil serum that finishes matte is difficult to build, and most of the category does not attempt it. Matte Veil is one of seven texture archetypes YANNARA formulates against, and Arawon is engineered to land inside it: melts in quickly, absorbs to a clean lightweight feel, and settles soft-focus and breathable with no shine and no slip under makeup.

It is a specification, not an adjective. Every batch is scored against it before release, and if it drifts it does not ship. This is the finish we get asked about most in warm, humid weather, which is where it was tested.

THE RITUAL

How to use

Before first use — Patch test

Apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours. If irritation occurs, rinse and discontinue use. We recommend patch testing before introducing any new facial oil serum into your routine.

01

Apply 2–3 drops

Start with clean, lightly damp skin after cleansing or mist. If using water-based serums, apply them first.

02

Warm and press gently

Warm between palms, then press gently into the face and neck. Do not rub. Let the serum settle into a soft, matte-veil finish.

03

Use AM & PM

Use daily, morning and night. In the morning, use sparingly and finish with broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
Avoid contact with eyes. For external use only. Do not apply to broken, irritated, or freshly exfoliated skin.

  1. HS

I have been using the serum for weeks now and it feels so nice on my skin. I had dry skin on the sides of my nose, and it completely disappeared. I’ve been trying to get rid of it for a couple of years and this serum worked wonders. Thank you Yannara!

    • IA

Thank you, Herbert. ToneReset™ is built to the Matte Veil archetype — a soft-focus finish rather than a glow, which is a harder texture to hit in an anhydrous system than it sounds. Glad it’s working for you

  2. A

Before I started using Arawon by YANNARA Beauty, I was hoping it would help fade the dark spots on my right cheek. After using it consistently for a few months, I can honestly say I’ve seen a noticeable improvement. The dark spots are still there, but they’ve lightened so much that they’re no longer obvious. In fact, some of my friends even asked me where they went because they thought they were already gone!

I use Arawon twice a day, every morning before work and every night before bed. I don’t use any other skincare products, so I know the changes I’m seeing are from Arawon.

One of my favorite things about it is how soft and smooth my skin feels, especially when I wake up in the morning. It also keeps my skin well-moisturized, so I no longer deal with dry skin.

I’m happy with my progress so far, and I’m excited to keep using it. If you’re looking for a simple skincare product that helps brighten dark spots while keeping your skin hydrated and smooth, Arawon has definitely been worth trying for me.

    • IA

Thank you for such a thorough account. Consistency over months is exactly what tone work requires — there’s no shortcut on that timeline, and the fact that you’ve kept it to a single product makes your observations genuinely useful to other readers.

  3. GC

The serum spreads smoothly and absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated with a lightweight finish. It fits well into my daily skincare routine, and I’ve enjoyed using it so far.

Thank you, Glenda — and thank you for the photos. Spread and absorption are the two properties we test most obsessively, so it’s good to hear they land.
