About YANNARA

Skincare can be thoughtful without being complicated — and effective without being aggressive. This is the human intention behind the work.

Why it exists

Why YANNARA Exists

YANNARA was born from years of working closely with people, skin, and care — observing how often skincare becomes overwhelming, reactive, or trend-driven.

The goal was not to create more products, but to create a clearer way of formulating and choosing.

The founders

Two Nurses Who Formulate

YANNARA was co-founded by Rudolf Ian Ballena and Julie Valenzuela Ballena — both registered nurses.

Years of caring for patients taught them how skin responds to stress, treatment, and daily life — and how often skincare adds noise instead of relief. That clinical perspective, paired with training in biology and a close study of cosmetic formulation, shapes every decision YANNARA makes.

It shapes what's inside, too. Built around Filipino heritage botanicals — pili, elemi, and moringa — YANNARA reflects where its founders come from as much as how they think.

Together, that perspective runs through everything — from how a formula is engineered to how each ritual is designed to feel on the skin.

From care to formulation

What Caring Teaches

Caring for people teaches restraint — when to act, and when not to.

That same restraint guides YANNARA's formulations. Each ritual is designed to support the skin without overwhelming it, respecting both biology and experience.

What guides our work

A Few Simple Principles

  • Clarity over complexity
  • Structure before claims
  • Sensation as part of efficacy
  • Care as an ongoing practice

These principles keep the work grounded.

Built with care, grown with intention

Consistency Over Speed

YANNARA is built deliberately — prioritizing formulation integrity, sourcing responsibility, and thoughtful growth.

Expansion is considered carefully, with the belief that consistency matters more than speed.

Skincare that feels considered — not urgent.

Every ritual is an invitation to slow down and choose with intention.
